Jeremy Steen wins NFL draft Streak for the Cash event![]() Steen went 15-0 during the draft By maintaining the longest active streak in the "Streak for the Cash" stunt event during the NFL draft, Jeremy Steen of Boulder, Colo., won $5,000. Under the username jsteen, Steen went 15-0 during the event. While two other Streakers also reached 15 wins during the stunt, Steen's streak was still active at the end of the event, earning him the prize. Steen, a Davidson graduate, now lives in Colorado Buffaloes country and works as a certified personal trainer. What started as a calm, fun day watching the draft at a friend's house turned into a pretty intense night when Jeremy crept up the Streak leaderboard. "I played just for fun and I didn't even realize how well I was doing until pretty late into the first round," Steen said. Steen said his strategy was just to make as many correct picks as he could without forcing a selection he was not too sure of. "I didn't have a lock pick, and I made sure to stay away from the Steelers' pick because they are my favorite team," Steen added. "Turns out I was right because they didn't take who I thought they would." For most of his choices, he put his faith in the multiple mock drafts provided by experts on TV as well as the decent amount of information he has gathered in the past few weeks. There wasn't one pick that scared him the most. Rather, the first few picks all seemed to be 50-50. "I just wanted to get more right then anyone else, that's all that mattered," Steen said. Steen's favorite teams are the Steelers, Yankees and Lakers. He really doesn't have any true hometown allegiances, as he moved from New York City to Washington, D.C., at a young age. Football is his favorite sport to watch, and he enjoys playing basketball outdoors. Steen also is always on ESPN.com, and his favorite fantasy game is fantasy baseball. When asked what he was going to do with his newly won $5,000, Steen said, "I'll probably pay some bills and see what I have left." |
